Toby is the definition of a big puppy! He is a greyhound mix, possibly with borzoi, and has a heart of gold.  He is happy, friendly and playful, always wanting to explore and show you something new. Toby gets along well with people and animals of all shapes and sizes. He is kind-hearted and loving; he tries his best to sneak in for a snuggle whenever you're around and is always willing to give puppy kisses. He would do best in a family with older children due to his size and the fact that he can be a little bit pushy; he's just very enthusiastic about everything and gets a little carried away sometimes. Toby is timid about loud noise, such as traffic, but is learning that these things aren't out to get him. He has excellent house manners and is a delight to have around.

Bee is an absolute dream.  The epitome of affection, she loves to be fawned over.  Her coat is so soft, she feels like a big teddy bear and you can't help but snuggle with her.  And Bee can't get enough cuddling!  She is a confident girl, and enjoys meeting people of all ages.  Everyone who meets her falls in love with her!  Bee has loads of love to give a family who will appreciate her warm, friendly, and affectionate nature.  UPDATE: Bee has been returned.  Unfortunately she did not do well as an "only" dog and will need another canine in her forever home.

Boz is calm for his age and has a somewhat independent nature.  He seems to hang back and take stock, and then jumps in!  Boz enjoys having someone scratch his ears and rub his neck.  He is a lover waiting to be discovered!

Kira is a sweet little thing that likes to be talked to and petted.  She is a quieter sort, docile and gentle.  Kira isn't demanding of attention but enjoys it when its given.  She is a nice little dog that will endear herself to you quickly.  A gem.

Who doesn't like a social girl who is the life of the party? Addy is friendly, affectionate, and fun. She enjoys outings in the car, and she has lots of energy for walks. Stuffies are her favorite toys: she throws them into the air and races around with reckless abandon. When Addy has the opportunity to burn off some energy, she settles beautifully in the house. She is a good listener and she aims to please

Slider is absolutely precious.  Better yet, she has a sweet and loving personality.  Slider can be a little tentative but the puppyness in her gets her over it pretty quickly. She has an endearing habit of "snapping" her jaws when she is overly excited, and does it so enthusiastically that we don't recommend Slider in a home with children under 12.  Slider is a charming girl that is full of sunshine.  Just a doll.

Scamp is a wonderful fellow looking for a new home.  He is happy and friendly, and as with all greyhounds, likes attention.  Scamp enjoys going for walks and has good leash manners. His house manners are impeccable!  He gets along with other dogs; just not cats.  Scamp celebrated his 4th birthday recently and would really like a family of his own to make his birthday wish come true.  UPDATE:  Scamp did not do well with the young children in his adoptive home so he is looking for a new home without children.

Missile is another big guy, but one that approaches new things with caution.  He likes people and gets along fine with other dogs, but new situations concern him a little.  Missile is still young, and with the confidence that comes with maturity, is going to blossom into a wonderful family companion.  All he needs is someone to take him home, lavish him with attention, and make him feel loved and secure.  Missile is well worth it!

London is looking for another retirement home.  He was released to Chinook Winds through no fault of his own after spending many years in a home.  London is a delightful old fellow that just needs a soft warm bed and some TLC.  He will provide the love!  He is the perfect dog for someone who would just like to open their home and their heart to a guy who didn't ask to be homeless in his twilight years, and isn't any trouble at all.

Bertie is a delightful little girl with a lot to share.  And she will tell you all about it!  Bertie is a talker.  She loves to carry on a "conversation" with a willing participant.  Bertie is a sweet and silly pup, young at heart and loves to be loved.  She has a heart of gold, and a sunny, amiable personality.  What more could you ask for? UPDATE:  Bertie really is a sweetheart.  She loves to go for walks, and while she pulls a little at first, she soon settles and walks beautifully on leash.  Bertie is playful and especially loves stuffies; she collects them and takes them to her kennel.  She is very curious, but takes her time getting used to new things.  Her kennel is her safe spot and Bertie goes there when she's feeling overwhelmed.  On hot days she loves to sleep outside in the cool grass and shade.  Bertie is a loving girl that loves to be petted and rubbed all over.  Her tail is something else; it goes constantly!  She is good with other dogs, large and small.  Bertie does have some baldness on her thighs, neck, and tummy, but her fur is starting to grow in, slowly but surely.
Bertie is not recommended in a home with children under 12 because when she gets overly excited, she snaps her jaws. Bertie is not being mean or vicious; it's a habit done in excitement.  She's a quirky little girl that will give you years of joy!

Beaver is a delightful boy.  He is still young but is going to mature into a fabulous companion.  Beaver is an amiable fellow with an agreeable nature and an even temperament.  His tail whirls like a helicopter when he greets you!  Beaver has a goofy side to his personality and is playful and full of fun.  This boy is big, but it's all heart.

Doc is such a lovable fellow with a bounce in his step.  He loves lots of attention and figures out ways to get it - like walking over and standing right in front of you so you just can't miss him!  Doc is full of personality and can be quite the character.  He will bring fun to your life and keep you entertained!

Silver is a happy young boy that is being returned to us due to allergies in the home.  More information on Silver when we get to know him better.  UPDATE: Silver is one great dog.  He is affectionate and friendly, and very people-oriented.  Silver loves to go for walks and he is good on leash.  He is also a good traveler.  Silver is just one all round fantastic fellow!

Fast is a lively fellow with a zest for fun.  Give him a buddy to romp around the yard with or a few stuffies to toss around and he's happy!  Fast is friendly and outgoing.  He's really interactive, has lots of energy and plays with great enthusiasm.  Fast is also an affectionate boy that loves to lean against you and press his face into you for hugs and pets.  He has good house manners, and even when he is immersed in play, listens well and settles when asked.  If you're looking for a hound with a ton of personality, Fast is here and just waiting for you to take him home!

April is just a delightful little girl!  What an affectionate dog she is, always ready with a kiss for you.  April is a sociable greyhound and gets along with everybody.  She can be a little shy with men, but warms up to them after awhile.  April has a playful side and loves a good romp.  She is good on leash and a pleasure to take for walks.  April also has impeccable house manners.  She has a healthy curiosity and likes to inspect new things.  April is also a good traveler.   April underwent treatment for anaplasma phagocytophilum (click here) , which is a tick borne disease, and is just fine now.  Don't shy away from this little girl - she is healthy and happy, and more than worth it!

George is such a sweet and affectionate boy.  He is very playful and LOVES his stuffies, to the extent that any in the home may be claimed as his own!  George has excellent house manners and all you need to do to get him to settle down is ask.  George is an easy going boy and gets along with everybody.  You just won't find a more amiable fellow than our George.  He does have a bit of a "bull in a china shop" syndrome and casually blunders through and over whatever to get to where he's going - but he means no harm! George is a seasoned traveler and rides well.  And, unlike most greyhounds, George sits!  George is an all-round fabulous dog and you won't regret making him a part of your family.
