OUR SPECIAL HOUNDS

Jenna is a lovely sweet greyhound who is looking for a new home.  She is a small girl with a big heart, and just look at that adorable face!  However, something has happened to Jenna somewhere along the way and she has become very dog reactive.  In the home environment, Jenna shines.  She has very good house manners, and is a good traveller.  She is affectionate and friendly, and adores people.  You will not find a better companion pet than Jenna when it comes to people!  Jenna also has no issues living with other greyhounds.  After the first meeting, once she lashes out at them, she is fine - the female greyhound in her current foster home is her BFF, and there have been zero issues since Jenna's initial outburst.  Jenna did the same in another foster home, where there are three greyhounds.  The issue is, of course, when out for a walk - Jenna cannot tolerate approaching dogs, and once they reach a certain distance from her, she lunges and barks.  Jenna's foster family is working diligently with her to manage her behavior and teach her new ones, and Jenna has made some good progress.  Jenna is looking for a very special someone to adopt her and take her home, love her unconditionally, and continue to work with her in the hopes that someday she will understand that other dogs aren't out to get her!  Undeniably it's a long road, but Jenna is an eager and willing pupil - we think that under the tutelege of a loving owner, and with the guidance of a professional dog trainer and/or behaviorist, Jenna is more than capable of learning new behaviors and overcoming the negative ones.  Will you give her a chance?

Initially withdrawn and preferring to keep to himself, Chenti is still very reserved, but mixing into every day life more and more as time goes on.  He is very sweet, and accepts affection, but very rarely seeks it out. Chenti will trot around the yard with the other dogs, and is always a willing participant on walks. He gets very nervous if a car approaches, or if people approach, but is improving. Chenti especially loves (the resident male greyhound), and so far, the resident greyhound is the only "person"/thing that commonly gets tail wags from him.  Chenti is a gentle old soul and a lovely boy. UPDATE:  Chenti, or Sean for short, has come a long way during his time in foster care.  Although he will never be outgoing and gregarious, a more relaxed side of his personality is starting to emerge.  Sean wags his tail more often in anticipation of things he enjoys, such as food, treats, and foster mom's return home.  He hangs out with his foster family when they are home, and although is still cautious with newcomers, no longer hides in the bedroom when guests are visiting.  Sean looks forward to his daily walks and has even been known to romp around the yard with the resident hounds.  He has learned some basic commands, including "sit", for a treat.  Chenti is a gentle, sweet fellow who deserves a "forever" home with a loving family of his own.
